I'm not sure, but I think out of all lost items, cell phones have the highest chance of getting returned. At least in my experience, I've lost my phone a number of times, and someone usually ends up calling one of my friends and letting them know they found it.

Call the cab company, all of them keep a lost and found. I've had a friend get something back overnight from a cab company, so it IS possible.

First off call the cab company and let them know you lost your phone, Im sure people leave things in cabs all the time so there has to be a lost and found.

Secondly call your phone provider and let them know that you did lose your phone, so they can either A) cancel it or B) send you a new one

That happened to me one time, but it was my wallet. Why I had my wallet in my bed and what I did to make it slide into the crack between my wall and bed, I'll never know.

A+ on finding it! I keep mine in my bed and can't find it sometimes, but usually it just fell and hit my roommate.
